Death toll rises to 8 in Madurai train coach fire.
TheLucknow-Rameshwaram tourist train was halted at Madurai. Then a box caught fire with a terrible noise.
It is said that some of the passengers in that compartment were cooking when the cylinder suddenly exploded.
It has been reported that 8 people including Sapdaman Singh (64) and Mithileshwari (65) from Uttar Pradesh have died in this fire accident. 5 people were seriously injured in the fire.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the cooking cylinder exploded and the fire occurred.
Firefighters immediately rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
District Collector Sangeeta personally inspected the train coach where the fire broke out and expedited the rescue.
